Kano is no stranger to the UK hip-hop/grime scene, though he’s still not seen the huge success of the likes of Dizzee Rascal and The Streets - and we’re not sure why. Not only has his continuously brought us fire through his unique and ever changing flow, he’s improved on every one of his albums and mixtapes.

Now he’s back with 140 Grime Street, due to be dropping this September. Be on the lookout for this one; could it be Kano’s time to rise to the top?

Jay-Z Hooks Up With Kanye In Manchester - Again!

Last night was Jay-Z’s Manchester show (part of his UK ROCnation tour) and we, living in Manchester, decided to attend. We’re so glad we did. Not only did Mark Ronson bring Rhymefest (who totally killed his set), Hov brought out non other than Kanye West.

It was only 8 months ago when Kanye brought out Jay - also in Manchester - so they either really like Manchester, or ‘Ye just decided to return the favor. Either way, it was amazing. Check the video out above.

Nas ‘Untitled’ Finally Drops And Delivers - His Best Album Since Illmatic?

It’s the album the hip-hop community has been desperate to get their hands on; Nas’ eighth (or ninth) studio album is finally here. The tracklist we previously reported was 100% correct, so no surprises are in store for those of you who thought that this album would be somehow different from the leak tracks - though with that said, a few tracks have been properly mixed now (such as The Slave & The Master) and have been perfected.

This should really be a must-have for any Nas (or hip-hop) fan. It’s the first album this year that actually talks about things that matter. Nas really shows off his poetic genius in this album, right from the very first track; Nas rhymes “I’m over their heads like a bulimic on a see-saw” - it’s not often a line goes over my own head, but Nas managed to get me going, “Huh?” and thinking about what he just said. He is a genius, and at the moment, nobody comes close to him in the rap game.

I’ll say it again - this album is a must have for hip-hop fans. This album is a must have for MUSIC fans.

Best album of ‘08 - it’s unlikely we’ll see better, unless Detox really does drop this year.

Busta Rhymes - Throw It Up Ft. Lil Wayne & Ludacris | We’re Blessed Again

Here’s a fresh new Busta Rhymes track which leaked late yesterday; it features a dope appearance from Ludacris, and an average one from Weezy. Overall, it’s a solid track, and will most likely be on Busta’s upcoming album Blessed.

Blessed is due for release this August.

More Nas News: Signs Deal With Fila, More Tracks Leak

Nas has signed a one year endorsement deal with South Korea’s largest sportswear manufacturing company, Fila. In exchange for Nas wearing the latest Fila products, the company will be providing financial support for additional advertising campaigns for Nas’ upcoming album Untitled.

Additionally, and more excitingly, Nas will also co-create a new line of Fila street wear inspired by late-80’s fashion.

“My best friend Will and I loved Fila. It represented prestige and everything that was cool to us. When Will passed, we buried him in a black Fila sweat suit, so doing a deal with them has a lot of significance for me.”

In other Nas news, yet more tracks have leaked off of his latest album dropping July 15th; it wouldn’t surprise us if the whole album is on the internet within the next few days. It’s rumored that G-Unit boss 50 cent is behind the leak, but we’re not so sure how realistic that is. Anyway, check out the first new track below, entitled “Breathe”:

And the latest leak below, “The World Go Round” featuring Chris Brown and The Game.

Both tracks are strong and it is looking like Untitled may be a true classic. Roll on July 15th.

ThisIs50 Volume 3 features the big boss 50 going in over some of the hardest old school classics around, and it simply should not be missed if you’re a G-Unit or 50 fan.

Rocawear Premium Line - “Jay-Z’s Looks” - Finally, they’re almost here

The long awaited ‘Rocawear Premium Line’, aka, ‘Jay’s Looks’ - the clothing in which Jay-Z has been wearing around on his tours lately - has finally been revealed, and we have all of the pics right here for your viewing pleasure. There is still no official release date or price list for these threads, but at least we know they’re in production now.

We’re not quite sure what we think of this piece. It looks a little too shiney for our liking. It also looks like crap when it’s reversed, but, let’s move on…

These jeans are pretty fly; depending on price (this is the premium line, after all) these could become a must cop.

Now, our little team has mixed emotions on these things… I, on one hand, think they are ugly. However, some of the team really like these. Next…

And that, my friends, is the premium collection. Overall, we’re not that impressed, though if the price is right, there are a few nice pieces up there.

Shady/Interscope Issue Statement Regarding Obies Departure

Today Paul Rosenberg, head of Shady Records and manager of Eminem, made a brief statement regarding Obie’s departure following the news we broke a few days ago.

“Shady Records has agreed to allow Obie Trice to pursue his craft in a different forum free from the constraints of the current major label model,” though “Eminem will continue to support and work with Obie on many levels of his career,” and “He remains a close friend and member of the Shady family.”

It appears that Obie still has a healthy relationship with Eminem and the Shady camp; he just wants complete artistic freedom, which is understandable, given that artists such as Stat Quo still have not been allowed to release their album.
