I’m excited – this is the first (and definitely not last) outfit breakdown here at Urban Lookout! We’re going to run down exactly what your favourite hip-hop stars are wearing while they’re out and about, doing shows, performing on TV, and everywhere else we might get a glimpse of their outfit. The first in this series will be covering none other than Kanye West who is known for his unique dressing style which moves somewhat away from traditional urban ’street’ clothing.

I’ll be breaking down the outfit he wore on the UK TV Show The Friday Night Project a couple of months ago; you can check him giving a quick tour of it himself here:

Alright! Now let’s go through that again, starting with his sneakers…

‘Ye is wearing some bright yellow Ice Cream Sneakers by Pharrell/Reebok – he mentions he received them off Pharrell, but not to worry, you can pick a pair up in quite a lot of good shoe stores across the US. In the UK, you can find them in the store Scotts, and failing that you can try JD Sports as they sometimes carry a few colours. These sell out really fast, so it may be worth buying off a reputable eBay seller if you can’t find them anywhere.

Next up are his Dior Jeans and Dior belt; both of which are very expensive and quite hard to find. Dior is not exactly an urban brand as mentioned above, Kanye opts for something more professional, sleek, and stylish. If you really want a pair, again, you can find them on eBay – but they are not cheap.

Let’s move on to his bling! Kanye is wearing a Yellow Bathing Ape G-Shock watch, which we have already individually posted about here. These watches are in limited quantity with only 2000 being made; because of that, there are a huge amount of fakes floating around on eBay, but sadly, eBay is the only place you can cop one of these now. Again, read our post about the watch for information on how to make sure you’re buying a real one.

Next up is his shirt; ‘Ye is wearing a fashionable white Jil Sander shirt. It’s unlikely you’re going to find the exact one he is wearing in the high street or on the internet, as they were in limited supply much like the G-Shock’s are. There are plenty of other white Jil Sander shirts at other online retailers, and there are also plenty on eBay.

Finally, Kanye is wearing a Dior (he really likes Dior, as you can probably tell) jacket. It’s very 80’s-ish and I actually quite like it (I’m not too fond of suit-looking jackets like this, but I guess Kanye won me over on this one).
