Stat’s free mixtape, The South Got Somethin’ To Say, has just dropped earlier today.
Plenty of good tracks and freestyles on this thing, so I highly recommend ya’ll download this. I’ve loved Stat for a few years now, and it’s a real shame the dude hasn’t had a chance to drop his album; hopefully he’ll get it sorted out soon. He also mentioned in an interview with hiphopDX that he’s going to be releasing 200-300 tracks that he recorded with Dre/Em… If he does, whoa.
Good stuff.

Rocawear have just launched their brand new cologne/aftershave, 9IX, which can be pronounced 99 or SIX. This is Rocawears first venture in to the cologne arena, though with Jay-Z stating he wears this stuff every day, you know it’s off to a pretty good start.
9IX is licensed by fragrance company Elizabeth Arden and includes licences not only for the flapship cologne for men, but a bunch of other fragrance related products such as shower gel.
9IX is pitched to be aimed at the younger population, aged 18 to 29, and that comes across quite strongly in their marketing efforts which mainly consists of half-naked ladies, not that we’re complaining.
9IX is available now in various highstreet stores; it retails for around $50-$90 depending on size but a ton of people are selling it on eBay for considerably cheaper, so if you want a better deal, check out the latest offers below.
Alternatively you can click here to purchase the 9IX products online at the official Rocawear website.

So yeah, yesterday was the 808’s & Heartbreak listening party, and it was confirmed that the album featured no rapping by West. The entire album is sung using auto-tune, with an exception from a verse by Young Jeezy.
More interestingly though, was that ‘Ye announced he would be dropping another new album in June ‘09 – and we’re guessing for that album he will be back to his good ol’ rapping self.
No further details on the June ‘09 album are known at this time.

I’ve never been a huge Yayo fan, but lately he’s been pretty hot. It was only a matter of time ’till a Aftermath/Shady/G-Unit artist spat over the Swagger Like Us beat, so here it is…

We got a few tips about this, and T.I also mentioned it himself a few weeks ago in that video where he addresses Jim Jones swag… T.I’s clothing line, Akoo (A King Of Oneself) will be dropping next month. Take that with a pinch of salt though; we’ve been waiting on this since ‘06…

The Signature LP literally just dropped on iTunes and we’re about halfway through the album. Initial impressions are very positive; the opening track is possibly Sway’s greatest yet, and “Pray 4 Kaya” gave us goosebumps – you can really feel Sway’s emotions through that track.
I’d already say it’s worth buying just off of my initial impressions, so yeah, go cop that.
Oh, and the track with Akon is fire too.

T.I’s sixth studio album, Paper Trail, passed 357,000 sales on the albums first day of release, which means it will debut at #1 on the Billboard charts this week, making Paper Trail T.I’s third album to debut at the #1 spot.
It is currently unknown whether sales of Paper Trail will surpass the 522,000 first week copies sold for King.

After Lupe previewed a track a few months back at one of his shows (which had horrible quality, but still we got the idea – it sounded tight) he’s just done it again, except this time we got a little better video quality (thank fuck, what’s with poor video quality lately? First LupEND, then Heartless…) so check it out below.
LupEND is due for an early ‘09 release and will be Lupe’s final studio album.

Kanye jumped out at T.I’s latest gig to perform his verse for Swagger Like Us, but once on stage T.I decided to give him the stage for a while; he performed Love Lockdown, and then previewed his second single, Heartless.
Really, it sounds tight. I can’t wait for CDQ, and as soon as I have it, I’ll post it.
808’s & Heartbreak is now confirmed for a November 25th release.

This is pretty funny. Some dude climbed up on stage, danced around like a douchebag, and then got pushed off stage by 50, who seemingly pushes like a six year old girl.
Apparently the guy got hurt quite bad when he landed, so we’ll probably see a lawsuit soon like we did with the whole Akon-throwing-kid-off-stage thing. Good times.
