Destroy NYC are a New York City based label (who would have guessed?) that were established in early 2003 – since then, they’ve been dropping heat every year.
This tee from their spring 2008 range entitled “Destroy Racism†features two fists; white and black. The bold text “Destroy Racism†drips down in a barcode-esc way, with the opposite colour to that of the fist, helping to show that white and black people are equal and should mix. This is a hot topic at the moment, and rocking this will surely help bring love and unity to those around you.

This week we have been covering quite a lot of up and coming labels; after all, we’re here to show you what’s hot, and heat doesn’t just come from the majors. We have up and coming labels contacting us every week for coverage, and sadly, a lot of the things we receive are junk. I’m not really sure what has happened in the last week, but we’ve been getting a lot of quality through – and Limb X Limb (Limb By Limb) is no exception.
I’m going to run you through these guys’ latest designs and briefly discuss the inspiration and motives behind each.
The first design, pictured above, is entitled the “watchers†tee. Limb X Limb created this shirt to tell the story of them being observers to the street clothing industry, with the aspirations of one day becoming part of it. Looking closely at the design an eye is centered in the L.I.M.B lettering to further beef up this solid, smart concept.
The second of the new range is entitled “Misery†(after the Stephen King movie using the same title) and is my personal favourite. The design depicts a scene from the classic movie; you have Cathy Bates taking a sledge hammer to the feet of James Caan except in place of the original image of Caan’s feet are a pair of cheap knock-off Jordan’s. Limb By Limb want people to take action and “Eliminate the Imposters!†– As do we here at Urban Lookout! Once again, this is my favourite tee in there line. I might just have to buy one for myself!
And finally, last but not least is a tee with the Limb X Limb Locksmith graphic; this is not an actual company, but just a play on words and imagery. I’ll quote the guys’ on this one:
This is definitely the smuggler’s choice tee. This is influenced by our street culture and gives you a couple drug references like “we got ki’s” and the smuggler’s plane accompanying the tagline.
By the looks of things, Limb By Limb aren’t going anywhere. They’re off to a rapid start with these smart, unique designs. Don’t sleep on these guys.

The latest shirt from up and comer I Came From Nothing is another shiner in my eyes. Seriously – it’s about time the UK scene got some love! This high quality short sleeved black t-shirt has a great relaxed fit and features the text “Grime Pays.” I’m not sure whether grime really does pay, as most UK grime artists are finding it hard to generate sales; but it definitely pays in terms of reputation, and you can rock this tee to show that.
Another winner from this up and comer. Highly recommend. Available now.

IC3 are fairly new on the scene, only being established in July of 2006 – but their momentum is quickly growing – as is their collection of clothing. Their latest range is perhaps the best I’ve seen from them yet; it truly is exciting to see an up and coming line bringing out fire like this.
The Spring/Summer range features 7 dope shirts, and every one of them are on point, my favourite being the one featuring hip-hop legend B.I.G (as pictured above). The tee also features a quote from the man himself – “It was all a dream” – A line which was also sampled on Jay-Z’s Blueprint 2 album.
These is something for everyone in this collection, and if you haven’t checked them out already, you’re missing out.

Up and coming brand I Came From Nothing have some really fresh designs, and over the next few days we’ll be taking a look at some of their new ‘08 line. To start off with, I picked this little gem which I found quite funny yet smart. The tee is entitled “A Bathing Abe“, after Japanese brand “A Bathing Ape“. The design may look familiar to a lot of you guys; that’s because the design is based on the Bathing Ape logo, except… as you might guess… the Ape has been replaced by Abe.
The shirt is available in white or black, with the black having a gold version of the design, which looks very nice. This is a hit for sure, and what’s more, the shirt is currently on sale at a discounted price!

We just got word of a new shipment of Aligerz tee’s over at MixUnit, one of which includes this charming gem of a design straight from their new 2008 range. The black tee exclaims “No Trifling Hoes” and lets the world know that you don’t f-with lame ass gold diggin’ attention seeking whores. We’re not saying that all women are, but this should get rid of those evil few and save your money on drinks and other material objects.
